Zero Clearance Insert

"They" say that you can’t be a real woodworker using the throat plate that came with your saw. You have to make your own "zero clearance" insert so that the downward surface of your wood is supported right up to the blade.
Of course there are a few thousand more things a "real woodworker" must do.
It’s a little like cyclists with shaved legs, tubular tires, titanium aftermarket derailleur bolts, and bladed (or is it oval?) spokes. It’s all good, but which are really worthwhile is open to debate.
Next up – a crosscut sled. After that I might actually make something that leaves the shop.
